Job description

The Citadel at Saint Anne Place is seeking a Laundry Aide to join their team! The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.

Laundry Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sorts all linens and treat stains.
  • Loads all laundry into washer and adds specified cleaning agents. 
  • Takes wet, clean items and dries as directed. 
  • Sorts and folds or hangs clean dried items.
  • May deliver laundry to various locations, including residents’ rooms. 
  • Maintains inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicates needs to manager. 
  • Maintains all laundry equipment and informs facility’s manager as to any maintenance needs. 
  • All other duties, as assigned 

Laundry Aide Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read, speak and understand the English. 
  • Must be able to operate washer/dryer.

Laundry Aide Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Experience in an institutional setting performing housekeeping services preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. 
  • Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
