This is more than an editorial role. You'll combine deep technical tax expertise with research, writing, and thought leadership to shape the educational resources that thousands of professionals depend on each year. You'll work alongside subject matter experts, collaborate with California state agencies, and help ensure our content remains the gold standard for technical accuracy and practical application.

If you're energized by solving complex tax questions, translating legislation into meaningful guidance, and making a lasting impact on the profession, we'd love to meet you.

  • Research, write, edit, and publish authoritative California tax content across digital and print products.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and administrative developments to ensure content remains timely and technically accurate.
  • Translate complex tax laws into practical, easy-to-understand guidance for tax professionals.
  • Utilize AI-assisted research and editorial tools while independently validating all technical conclusions before publication.

Editorial Leadership

  • Help shape CeriFi's editorial strategy and content calendar for California tax products.
  • Partner with internal and external subject matter experts to develop high-quality educational resources.
  • Recommend new topics and educational offerings based on emerging legislation and practitioner needs.
  • Maintain editorial standards across all publications, ensuring consistency, clarity, and technical excellence.

Government & Industry Relationships

  • Represent CeriFi and Spidell Publishing with the California Franchise Tax Board and other state tax agencies.
  • Build relationships with government contacts to stay informed on legislative developments and policy changes.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for both internal stakeholders and external industry partners.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Review content for technical accuracy, editorial consistency, and compliance with company standards before publication.
  • Improve editorial workflows and leverage technology to increase efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Help evolve how AI can responsibly support research and content creation while preserving editorial integrity.
Requirements:

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred
  • CPA, EA, JD, MST, or another advanced tax credential.
