UV Press Operator (Trainee & Experienced)
Department: Production
Job Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To: Production Supervisor / Plant Manager
Job Overview
We're growing our pressroom team and are looking for UV Press Operator Trainees and Experienced UV Press Operators. Whether you're eager to learn a skilled trade or ready to step in with hands-on experience, this role offers the opportunity to work with advanced UV printing technology in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Placement and responsibilities will be based on experience, with training provided for trainees.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities vary based on experience level
  • Set up and operate UV printing presses
  • Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and print specifications
  • Perform press make-readies and maintain run-speed standards
  • Change plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed
  • Monitor print quality, including ink coverage, density, registration, and color accuracy
  • Match color proofs and customer samples
  • Minimize waste and downtime by monitoring production performance
  • Perform routine cleaning, wash-ups, and basic maintenance
  • Accurately record press time, materials, and production data
  • Troubleshoot press issues and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures
What We're Looking For
  • Trainees: Mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn
  • Experienced Operators: Prior experience operating UV or offset printing presses
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including future 12-hour shifts
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the production floor
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs using proper safety techniques
