About the Role
Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Shipping Material Handler to support shipping operations at our Chicago facility. In this role, you will safely move, stage, and load steel tube and pipe products while ensuring accuracy, organization, and adherence to safe material-handling practices.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment, values teamwork, and takes pride in maintaining safe and efficient operations.
Shift:Afternoon - 3pm - 11pm
What You'll Do
  • Champion and follow safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials efficiently
  • Pick, pack, and stage customer orders to ensure accurate and timely shipment
  • Load finished products onto flatbed trailers or LTL carriers according to shipping specifications
  • Receive and inspect inbound materials and report damages or discrepancies
  • Replenish warehouse stock and rotate inventory to maintain proper material flow
  • Verify order accuracy using scanning tools and shipping documentation
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe staging and shipping areas
  • Complete required shipping, inventory, and equipment inspection documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance

Who You Are
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse or material handling experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Basic math skills for accurate order processing and inventory tracking
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 pounds

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, and operate warehouse equipment safely
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and moving equipment

Compensation
Below is the expected base hourly range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and final offers may vary based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
Base Hourly Rate:
$28.90 USD per hour + production incentive bonus
