POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has opportunities for Gardeners in Ridgecrest, CA. The Gardener is responsible for providing general gardening care and grounds maintenance involving trees, lawns, turf, shrubs, hedges, ground cover, flowers and athletic fields. Work will include both routine work and special assignments to support a government contract.
  • Primary duties will consist of mowing, trimming, edging, fertilization, pruning, debris and weed removal, tree staking, berm maintenance and limb removal.
  • Will maintain improved and semi-improved grounds.
  • Build and maintain irrigation systems to include valves, vacuum breakers, backflow preventers, pressure regulators, irrigation connections, sprinkler heads, bubblers, risers, heads, underground piping, controls, irrigation time clocks and other water emitting devices.
  • Operating motorized equipment such as tractors, weed eaters, chain saws, etc. as required.
  • May be required to drive to outlying areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

Payrate: $25.29 Hourly
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be able to drive manual shift equipment up to a two-ton truck.
  • Must be proficient in the use of hand tools, including shovels, rakes, lawn rollers, pruning saws and sheers, hand mowers, hula hoes, etc.
  • Ability to comply with all safety requirements and wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Alutiiq-Mele, LLC maintains a professional work environment at all times. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated.
  • Ability to comply with all instruction and direction.
  • Ability work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Applicant must have the ability to successfully pass a background investigation for both the company as well as the base.
  • Must have a valid state's driver's license.
  • Alutiiq, LLC maintains a drug/alcohol free workplace. Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must have the ability to perform physical labor to include lifting and carrying a maximum of 50 lbs.
