Job description

ABOUT THE POSITION

ATG-Entertainment – North America is looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our North American Payroll team. This role is based in San Antonio and supports multi-state payroll operations with a strong focus on California compliance. You will work closely with the Payroll Director and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large and diverse workforce.

The ideal candidate has hands-on payroll experience, is proficient in HRIS and HCM systems such as ADP, UKG, or Ceridian, has experience working with unions, and has a solid understanding of California wage and hour requirements.

This position currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Process accurate and timely weekly full-cycle payroll for salaried, hourly, and union employees across three San Francisco venues using UKG

·       Identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies and processing issues

·       Process off-cycle payroll including manual checks for terminations, bonuses, retro pay, and payroll adjustments

·       Review and validate timecard data (ABI Mastermind and UKG Ready), including overtime, paid leave, holiday pay, and separation payouts, and confirm compliance with state, local, union, and department work rules

·       Import and reconcile variances in UKG-Time and Attendance

·       Maintain accurate electronic payroll files and records

·       Respond to employee payroll questions

·       Process employee changes such as deductions, garnishments, pay rate changes, withholding changes, and terminations

·       Support cross-training of payroll staff to ensure critical payroll functions are conducted efficiently

·       Assist with issuance of W-2s and 1095-Cs

·       Perform other payroll duties as assigned

UNION REPORTING & CBA ADMINISTRATION

·       Update union rates for new CBAs and process retroactive pay, including off-cycle payroll runs when required

·       Review weekly theatre settlements and payroll reports to ensure accurate and timely payment of union welfare, pension, dues, and benefit contributions via ACH and checks

·       Assist with union audits and related health and pension contributions

·       Send benefit breakdowns to unions and Accounts Payable for processing

·       Prepare and submit weekly union benefit contribution reports and coordinate related payment requests with Finance to ensure timely remittance to all applicable union funds

·       Research and resolve union dues, vacation, and contributions discrepancies within the UKG payroll system

·       Review and resolve union payment discrepancy notices

·       Assist with union audits related to health, pension, and benefit contributions

·       Apply knowledge of collective bargaining agreements to payroll processing and benefits

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

·       At least 2 years of payroll processing experience required

·       Experience using UKG or similar HCM systems preferred

·       Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs

·       Experience preparing union benefit reports and coordinating benefit contribution payments, preferred

·       Knowledge of payroll best practices and federal and state payroll regulations
