Standard Job Description The candidate will be part of a multi-disciplined team environment working on the total software engineering life cycle from specification, design development, integration and test, deployment, maintenance and field trouble shooting for large scale, high complexity naval platform systems, with a focus on the Combat Management System (CMS). The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to: Working in an Agile team environment Software requirements analysis and reviews Software design analysis and reviews Software development, primarily using Java and containerization tools like Kubernetes Unit testing and documentation Integration and deployment Problem Solving Mentoring junior developers Basic Qualifications Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field Eligible to obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret Clearance in a timely manner 5-10 years' work experience in Java development Proven experience with containerization tools like Kubernetes, Podman, or Docker Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes via Helm Experience building RESTful APIs using Spring Boot Proven experience writing test cases (unit, functional, and integration) using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, Mock MVC, and TestFx Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or MariaDB) Eligible for NATO Secret clearance in a timely manner. Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git) and CI/CD pipelines Experience working in Linux (RHEL) Desired Skills Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development practices Experience working with DIS or HLA Familiar with build tools like Gradle and creating pipelines in GitLab Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Well organized, capable of planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work Knowledge of software requirements engineering process Active Security Clearance (NATO Secret Level) Knowledge of scripting in Bash Familiar with development tools such as IntelliJ, VS Code, Eclipse.
