Public Health Specialist/Analyst - CDC
Position Status: Contingent upon contract award.
Position Summary
Support planning, implementation, monitoring, technical assistance, analysis, and reporting for DNPAO programs serving state, local, Tribal, community, and national public health partners. This role supports DNPAO’s state, local, Tribal, community, and national partner portfolio by helping recipients implement and sustain evidence-based strategies. Assignments may include reviewing work plans and annual performance reports, coordinating technical assistance, analyzing program progress, preparing dissemination products, supporting site visits and webinars, and documenting outcomes across SPAN, HOP, REACH, TPWIC, TECPHI, GHWIC, arthritis, ECE, and FHWP-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support recipient program planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Review work plans, annual performance reports, progress data, measures, and technical products.
  • Provide or coordinate tailored technical assistance, webinars, meetings, and site visits.
  • Conduct environmental scans, literature reviews, program analyses, and evidence synthesis.
  • Prepare reports, one-pagers, success stories, guidance, presentations, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with CDC project officers, recipients, partners, and subject matter experts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience supporting public health program planning, implementation, technical assistance, recipient engagement, performance monitoring, evaluation, or scientific and programmatic reporting. Experience with CDC or another federal health agency, cooperative agreements, NOFO recipients, or state, local, Tribal, or community partners is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality work in a multidisciplinary, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, judgment, and client-service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting CDC, HHS, another federal health agency, a public health recipient network, or a comparable mission-focused organization.
