About Full Throttle Marine

Full Throttle Marine is redefining premium marine service in Florida's most vibrant boating market. We've built something different: a professional, branded mobile service operation that delivers world-class outboard maintenance, mechanical repair, winterization, commissioning, and detailing directly to your customers' docks—by land or water.

No shop. No waiting rooms. No surprises. Just exceptional technicians doing exceptional work, backed by a growing network that handles the business side so you can focus on what you do best: delivering premium service to high-net-worth boat owners who demand excellence.

We're in early growth phase with a proven franchise model and a clear vision: attract certified, skilled technicians who are tired of the same four walls and ready to build something meaningful in a thriving industry.

The Opportunity

This is your chance to be part of a premium marine service operation that's growing fast in one of America's most active boating markets. As a Contract Marine Technician with Full Throttle Marine, you'll execute high-quality service calls across the Tampa Bay corridor—working independently, managing your own schedule, and building a reputation for excellence with discerning boat owners.

You'll operate as a trusted field technician in a professionally managed system. We handle customer acquisition, scheduling, and logistics. You handle the work. It's a clean arrangement that lets you focus on delivering the premium service these customers expect and are willing to pay for.

This is a contract (1099) position with flexible scheduling and compensation structured per job completed. Work volume is consistent and growing as our network expands.

What You'll Do
  • Perform scheduled outboard service at manufacturer intervals (50, 100, and 200-hour) on Yamaha and Mercury platforms
  • Execute winterization and spring commissioning procedures with precision and professionalism
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in the field, leveraging your expertise to solve problems efficiently
  • Support premium detailing services as needed, maintaining our high-quality brand standard
  • Complete photo documentation and digital service reports after every job—clean, professional, and transparent
  • Represent the Full Throttle Marine brand with pride: uniformed, punctual, prepared, and customer-focused
  • Communicate clearly with our operations team on parts needs, scheduling updates, and job status
  • Build relationships with premium boat owners who value quality work and professional service
What We're Looking ForRequired
  • Active Certification from one or more of the following:
    • ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) — Marine Technician certification
    • Yamaha Marine — Certified Technician (YCT) or equivalent dealer training
    • Mercury Marine — Certified Technician or equivalent factory training
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience servicing outboard engines
  • Strong working knowledge of Yamaha and/or Mercury outboard systems
  • Reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment to job sites
  • Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple daily service calls
  • Professional appearance and strong customer-facing communication skills
  • Valid Florida driver's license and clean driving record
  • Appropriate liability coverage (must carry or be willing to obtain)
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with both 2-stroke and 4-stroke outboard platforms
  • Familiarity with marine electrical systems, fuel delivery, and trim/tilt systems
  • Experience working from a service skiff or dockside (water-side access preferred for some locations)
  • Prior mobile service or field service experience
  • Experience serving high-net-worth clientele or premium service markets
Why Join Full Throttle Marine
  • Competitive Per-Job Compensation — Above market rate for certified technicians. You're paid for quality work.
