Job description

$12.50 to $15.00 highest hourly must have food processing exp

90 day before they can be considered for direct hire

hours are 7:00am to 3:30 for all positions to start, there may be some shifting of hours for some positions (QA mostly). We are on mandatory OT right now so everyone is until 5:30pm

The first day of work the candidate would start at 8am…one day only!


QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN

  • Performs daily equipment calibration of Metal Detector, scales, Water Activity, Moisture meters.
  • Verification of metal detection program.
  • Perform the quality inspection functions for finished products to assure product quality and package integrity is within specifications.
  • Performs package evaluations on finished packages that may include:
  • Water Activity
  • Oxygen Level
  • Product Size
  • Net Weights
  • Flavor, odor, texture and appearance
  • Integrity
  • Appearance
  • Functionality
  • Codes and Dates
  • UPC and label accuracy
  • Tests and verifies that packaging/meat are correct grade, standard, appearance, chemical/ physical/microbiological compliant and sensory attributes are met.
  • Daily monitoring of GMP’s and other Prerequisite Programs
  • Pre-Operational Sanitation
  • Label Accuracy Program
  • HACCP, CCP and CQP verification preferred
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of team members effectively in oral and written communication.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all other departments to facilitate a positive team environment
  • Maintains records of findings and highlights non-conformance
  • Identifies and acts to prevent unacceptable product shipment to customers.
  • Informs Operators, Supervisors and Managers of quality issues
  • Identify and support quality related training
  • Participates in physical inspections on a weekly basis on each area (pest control, operational methods, maintenance for food safety, sanitation, personnel practices, etc.)
  • Responsible for complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. SQF
  • Mandatory overtime may be required to meet our business requirements.
  • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all company rules and policies.
  • Keep work area clean at all times.
  • Assist in sample preparation for shipment
  • Any other job functions as delegated by QA SUPERVISOR
