Your Role at KIK
Join our Chicago plant as a Forklift Operator on 1st shift - Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime on Saturdays as production requires. In this role you are a critical part of our operation. You will safely operate a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods throughout the warehouse, load and unload trailers, and keep production flowing. You'll work in a chemical manufacturing environment under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Standards.
This position has a base salary range of $20.60 per hour plus shift differential for applicable shifts.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment to move product throughout the warehouse
  • Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper handling and product integrity
  • Move and stage raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in and around the department
  • Complete inventory transactions using an RF scanner or warehouse management system (WMS) - receipts, moves, and cycle counts
  • Complete loading and inventory documentation accurately, adhering to Hazmat rules where applicable
  • Perform visual checks of finished goods before shipment so that products, pallets, labels, and packaging meet company and customer standards
  • Re-stack, wrap, or secure pallets as needed to maintain safe, stable loads and prevent product damage
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, damaged product, or near misses
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready work area in line with 5S, GMP, and housekeeping standards
  • Comply with cGMP, SOPs, Safety Standards, PPE requirements, and all plant policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1 or more years of sit-down forklift and Stand up experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Hands-on experience using an RF scanner or warehouse management system (WMS) (preferred)
  • Ability to understand and follow safety instructions, SOPs, equipment labels, and shipping documents written in English
  • Understanding basic PIT safety
  • Basic math and counting skills for accurate inventory and order handling
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift, including overtime and Saturdays as needed
  • Team-first attitude and a personal commitment to working safely
  • Prior experience in a chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or other GMP-regulated manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Experience with cycle counting or inventory accuracy programs (Preferred)
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb on and off a forklift consistently throughout an 8.5-hour shift, plus overtime as scheduled
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions including grasping, reaching, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and conveyor systems
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled setting with high temperatures and humidity, potential high noise levels depending on location, and regular interaction with various chemicals and chemical products
