Job description

Paramedic Job DescriptionLocation: Brookfield, IL, 60513
Working Hours:
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule. (24 hours on 72 hours off)
Role and Responsibilities:

The Paramedic functions as a member of a three-person critical care transport team responsible for the following:

  • Initiation of medical care within the licensed and certified expanded scope of practice
  • Assisting the Registered Nurse with all aspects of patient care
  • Participation in team-based interdisciplinary patient care
  • Safe Driving of Company Vehicles: *CEVO training required within 30 days of hire
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use
  • Prompt reporting of any/all damaged or lost company equipment and vehicles
  • Participation with other shift members in daily station duties
  • Performing initial patient contact including placing the patient on all appropriate monitoring devices
  • Attend all mandatory training and development evolutions
Qualifications and Education Requirements (Paramedic):
  • IDPH Paramedic in good standing
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS Trauma Certification
  • PHTLS/ITLS
  • Successful completion of Loyola EMS System Entry within 30 days of hire
  • CCEMT-P required within two years of hire
