EMPLOYMENT DATE: TO BE DETERMINED
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
  • The Technology Summer Student Worker helps prepare teacher classrooms for the upcoming school year. This role focuses on setting up, testing, and optimizing classroom technology so educators are ready to teach on day one. It is an excellent opportunity for students, aspiring IT professionals, or individuals seeking valuable hands-on technical experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to pass a mandatory district criminal background check and fingerprinting process.
  • Technology Summer Student Worker must have transportation

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Basic knowledge of connecting hardware peripherals, configuring display settings, and troubleshooting cables.

EXPERIENCE:
  • -

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Connect, position, and cable-manage teacher desktop computers, dual monitors, and docking stations.
  • Set up and test newline panels and projectors, to ensure proper display and sound.
  • Hook up keyboards, mice, printers, and classroom phones, verifying that all components work.
  • Organize, bundle, and secure power and network cables to ensure teacher desks are safe, clean, and trip-free.
  • Power on classroom equipment, verify network connectivity (Wi-Fi and Ethernet)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
  • Strong organizational skills, neatness in work, and the ability to follow a checklist for each classroom.

Physical demands/environmental factors:
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, crawl under desks to manage cables, and spend long periods walking between classrooms.
