Job description

Assembly Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Location: Cary, IL
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Potential extension until 1:00 AM Monday–Thursday)
Training: 4–5 weeks on 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Salary: $60,000 – $75,000
Position Type: Direct Hire

Are you a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys coaching teams, improving production processes, and driving results? We are seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to lead a team of 25–35 production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing organization where you'll play a key role in safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise and lead a team of 25–35 hourly production employees.
  • Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety goals are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate workflow and material movement between production, engineering, quality, planning, shipping, and receiving.
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP), inventory, and production performance.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and manufacturing issues.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees while maintaining accountability.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate production reporting and ERP/MES transactions.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience (3–5+ years preferred).
  • Experience leading production teams in a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Background in assembly, fabrication, machining, metal forming, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanically inclined with experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; MES experience is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Great Plains ERP.
  • Welding or metal fabrication experience.
