HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for a Gardener 2 to join its skilled trades and facilities team.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE
  • Thursday - Monday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

POSTION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Full-time position with excellent benefits and strong work/life balance (no commuting from job site to job site).

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain plants and manage weeds, including invasive and noxious weeds, through Integrated Pest Management strategies and practices, including hand and mechanical removal
  • Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems such as manual watering equipment and automatic irrigation clocks and systems, including operations and troubleshooting
  • Maintain campus waste to include trash, recycling, pallets and other waste appropriately
  • Cleaning of hard surface areas such as litter pick up, biohazard removal, and graffiti removal; pressure washing of hard surfaces; snow and ice removal as required during winter months
  • Prune trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials for health, clearance, and form using best horticultural practices; plant and transplant shrubs, trees, perennials, and annuals
  • Use hand and power implements and tools and commercial power equipment; operate power and motorized equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Physical ability to do required work AND one year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
  • May require valid State of Washington driver's license.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

$29.59 hourly
