Familiarity with route optimization apps, GPS navigation systems, and sometimes specimen tracking software is often required. Reliability, attention to detail, and strong time management are crucial soft skills for this role. What is an Hourly Lab Logistics Driver App?

An Hourly Lab Logistics Driver App is a mobile application platform designed to connect laboratories with drivers who can transport medical specimens, samples, or lab materials on an hourly or on-demand basis. These apps help labs quickly schedule and manage deliveries, track driver progress in real-time, and ensure that sensitive materials are handled and delivered safely and efficiently. Drivers using these apps are often independent contractors or employed by courier services that specialize in medical logistics. The app streamlines communication between the lab, drivers, and recipients, improving delivery reliability and compliance with industry regulations.

Job description

About Etched
Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Logistics, Warehouse Coordinator to support daily material flow between our Etched HQ warehouse operations and in-house engineering labs. This role is critical to ensuring engineers have the right parts, tools, and systems available when needed to keep development and builds on schedule.
You will manage incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory organization, internal material distribution, and warehouse processes while maintaining high accuracy and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hardware environment and takes pride in operational excellence across logistics and warehouse workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Material Handling
  • Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments, including components, assemblies, tools, and equipment
  • Verify quantities and documentation against purchase orders, packing lists, and bills of lading
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Engineering teams on discrepancies or damaged goods
  • Label and route materials to appropriate lab benches, storage locations, or build areas

Inventory & Organization
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in internal systems and spreadsheets
  • Maintain real-time visibility into material status via ERP (NetSuite) and inventory tracking tools
  • Organize and manage storage areas to ensure efficient retrieval and clear part identification
  • Conduct cycle counts and support inventory reconciliation efforts

Warehouse Operations Management
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized lab and warehouse spaces
  • Operate basic material-handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and carts
  • Ensure compliance with safety and handling requirements for sensitive components, including ESD, fragile, and high-value parts
  • Identify opportunities to improve labeling, storage systems, and material flow efficiency

Internal Lab Support
  • Interface with lab and engineering teams to understand material requirements and distribute supplies efficiently
  • Stage materials for engineering builds and test activities
  • Coordinate material movement between lab spaces, warehouse, and manufacturing partners
  • Manage RMA shipments and outbound logistics as needed
  • Document and improve lab logistics workflows

You may be a good fit if you have
  • 2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or inventory control
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory tracking systems, such as NetSuite or SAP
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures precisely
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate closely with Engineering and Operations teams
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, physical environment, including lifting and moving materials up to approximately 25 lbs
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and inventory tracking systems
  • Prior lab or warehouse experience in a semiconductor or hardware environment
  • Familiarity with startup operations or fast-paced R&D cycles
  • Experience supporting inventory audits or compliance processes

Compensation
This is a 1099 contract position, expected to be 40 - 50 hours per week. Compensation is hourly and competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
As a contractor, this role is not eligible for full-time benefits (e.g., medical, dental, vision insurance), but you will have:
  • Paid access to daily lunch and dinner at our San Jose office
  • Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our operations scale

How we're different
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We are the first inference-focused frontier AI system, betting early on transformer and transformer-like architectures and on increasing model sizes. Our addressable market is the entirety of inference, unlike many of our competitors.
We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both and work across disciplines as needed.
