Stella’s Ice Cream is hiring!

We are looking to fill daytime shifts from 11 am - 3:15 pm and 3 pm - 7:15 pm during the week M-F.


We are looking for smart, hard-working, reliable, friendly people. Stella’s is an independent, local ice cream company serving high-quality, handmade, homemade ice cream and baked goods.


On an average day, our scoopers will be grooving to the beat while scooping up delicious gobs of salted caramel and cookie dough for kids, friends & families!

Compensation:

$10 - $16 hourly


Responsibilities:

Stella’s scoopers are responsible for delivering on our promise to create a welcoming community-gathering place. This role is responsible for providing great service, consistent scoops, and good vibes during every shift. They ring up customers, keep the shop clean, choose fun upbeat music, and, most importantly, provide impeccable customer service.

  • Welcome every customer that comes through the door with positive vibes, high energy, and a smile
  • Offer customers samples, information about us, menu suggestions, and add-ons (as many as they want)
  • Scoop scoops, makes sundaes, mixes shakes with love, and bakes and delivers fresh-baked goods
  • Keep cool under pressure, even when the line is out the door and around the corner
  • Stay BUSY for your entire shift, even during downtime
  • Contribute positively to the team, culture, atmosphere, and customer experience
  • Maintain a positive attitude at ALL TIMES
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines with care
  • Keep counter, seating, kitchen, and bathroom areas inviting and clean
  • Wash ice cream tubs and utensils throughout your shift (must love doing dishes by hand)
  • Run cash register and iPad POS; follow Stella’s cash handling procedures
  • Continually stock ice cream, baked goods, and new inventory as it’s purchased
  • Bring music to work to contribute to the shop’s fun environment
  • Contribute to Stella’s goals for increasing sales and creating loyalty through social media and outside events
  • Share what’s awesome about Stella’s: our people, our process, and our products
  • Work as part of a team and also individually
  • Thank every customer
  • Odds and ends as needed

Qualifications:
  • You must be at least 16 years of age
  • You must LOVE kids
  • Have great communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude
  • Talk to customers, create positive experiences for them every time
  • Like having and creating fun
  • Have retail or client/customer service experience
  • Must be available 15+ hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Reliability is a non-negotiable. Read again - RELIABILITY is a NON-NEGOTIABLE
  • Able to work late nights. We’re open till 10 or 11 every night
  • Good music taste required
  • Good grades and/or volunteer work or community involvement are a huge plus
  • Ability to lift 50lbs regularly
  • Be a proactive problem solver and diligent doer
  • Self-starters who contribute and add value while on shift are a must
  • A positive attitude is required
