Job description

Graphite Insulating Systems is currently seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Production Worker / General Machinist to join our growing team at our Gardner, MA facility. This is a full-time, immediate opening for an individual who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and producing high-quality products in a manufacturing environment.


We manufacture advanced graphite-based material components and assemblies used in aerospace and high-temperature furnace applications, serving customers who demand precision, quality, and reliability.

In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will perform a variety of production and machining tasks, including:


  •  Primary responsibility will be machining of graphite insulation board to customer drawings and specifications
  • Assembling insulation material per customer specifications and equipment
  • Operating a die cutter to stamp out foil gaskets
  • Fabricating wooden crates for LTL shipping
  • Applying multiple coats of graphite sealant to insulation boards
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and customer specifications
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform other functions as required


Employee must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.  Job tasks may also involve:

  • Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures
  • Working with  solvents, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls, Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion. Employee will be expected to attend safety training, serve on the facility safety committee and participate in hazard analysis and resolution


Qualifications:

·       Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing, machining, or production experience

·       Carpentry or woodworking experience is a plus

·       Good mechanical ability and comprehension

·       Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools

·       Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints

·       Strong mechanical aptitude

·       Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team

·       Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting

·       Safety-conscious with a strong attention to detail

·       Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic

·       Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment
