Job description

About Hudu:

Hudu is a fast-growing SaaS platform built exclusively for IT professionals and Managed Service Providers (MSPs). We give teams a single, secure, and beautifully simple place to store, organize, and share everything that keeps modern IT environments running: passwords, network documentation, processes, assets, client knowledge, and more. By replacing scattered spreadsheets, outdated wikis, and a dozen disconnected tools with one unified, customizable solution, Hudu helps thousands of IT teams save time, reduce risk, deliver better service, and scale with confidence.

Hudu is looking for an eager Flutter Engineer to join our high-performing external apps engineering team. In this role, you'll build and maintain our mobile app (iOS and Android) and develop Dart console apps for our Radar product, including Windows services that interact with native APIs. You'll also work with RESTful APIs to connect your work to our Rails core app, with some crossover into our Rails/Hotwire stack as needed.

You will work closely with product, design, and engineering to ship features end-to-end, contribute to code reviews and architecture decisions, and play an active role in improving the performance and reliability of our platform as it grows.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Write clean, maintainable Dart/Flutter code following state management (Riverpod) and widget architecture best practices

  • Build and maintain our mobile app for iOS and Android

  • Work on Dart console apps for Radar, including Windows services that use FFI for native API access

  • Consume and integrate RESTful APIs, including sending locally-gathered data to our Rails API

  • Collaborate with the Rails/Hotwire side of the stack when needed

  • Collaborate with UX design and product management teams to brainstorm new and existing requirements

  • Implement new features, new products, and help to improve existing features

  • Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes

  • Keep your team up-to-date with your progress, issues, and status

Our Tech Stack

  • Our mobile app is built with Flutter and Dart, using Riverpod for state management

  • Our Radar Service and Agent apps are Dart console apps running as Windows services using FFI to query lower-level native APIs

  • We use WIX and Inno Setup as installer tools to build our exe/msi installers

  • Our core web app (Hudu) is built with the latest Ruby on Rails and Hotwire.

  • Communication between apps are supported via OAuth 2.0

  • For testing we use rspec, vitest, flutter test, test (dart), and Mockito

  • Our APIs are based on REST and documented with Swagger

  • We use Github for our PR Review Process, and Github Actions for our DevOps Pipeline

  • We use Sentry for error reporting

About You:

  • 4+ years of experience developing software with Dart and Flutter

  • Strong understanding of Flutter conventions, including state management with Riverpod, widget architecture, and building for both iOS and Android

  • Proven experience building and maintaining a production Flutter/Dart mobile app

  • In-depth experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs

  • Proven experience translating UI/UX designs into responsive, user-friendly mobile interfaces

  • Proficient in Git for version control

  • Ability to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code

  • Proficient in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Collaborative and communicative with a focus on teamwork and problem-solving

  • Open to constructive feedback and actively participate in code reviews

  • Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively

  • Eager to learn, grow, and ask questions when needed

  • Excellent communication skills (including English, written and spoken

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with FFI or calling native Windows APIs from Dart — this would let you contribute to the Windows services that power Radar's data collection

  • Experience with Windows installer tooling such as WIX or Inno Setup — this would let you contribute to our installer/exe/msi build process (we don't currently ship for Mac or Linux, but may build out pkg/deb installer support in the future)

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and Hotwire (Stimulus.js and Turbo) — our core web app (Hudu) and Radar's backend are both Rails apps, so Rails experience would let you contribute across that side of our stack as well

  • Experience with C or C++

Why Work at Hudu:

  • Innovation & Impact : Rapid product evolution with regular feature updates and new tools. Building tools that solve real pain points for users.

  • Customer Focus: High user satisfaction with ease of use, powerful documentation capabilities, and strong product support.

  • Growth Mindset: A high-growth, startup environment where team members can wear many hats, innovate, and grow with the company.

  • Benefits & Perks:

    • Health Insurance

    • 401k plan with company matching

    • Paid time-off

    • Flexible work hours

    • Work Life Balance

Compensation for this role will be determined on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, and job-related qualifications. If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred qualifications, we still encourage you to apply!
