Job description

Registered Nurse (RN)

The Northeast Health District's Children's Medical Services (CMS) Program is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care and professional expertise for children and youth with special health care needs. This position is responsible for conducting health assessments, coordinating care, supporting families, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to improve health outcomes.

The CMS Program offers a supportive, team-oriented environment dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of children and their families.

Hourly Rate: $45.00/hour

Work Schedule: Part-time, hourly position working up to 29 hours per week.

Please Note: The Northeast Health District is recruiting for both a full-time and a part-time hourly Registered Nurse position. Only one position will be filled based on operational needs and the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and case management for pediatric clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor client progress.
  • Coordinate referrals, appointments, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in CMS telemedicine and specialty clinics.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with CMS policies and program guidelines.
  • Support the transition of youth from pediatric to adult health care services.
  • Participate in community outreach events and educational activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, community partners, and families to coordinate comprehensive care.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Note: No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pediatric nursing, public health nursing, or case management.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience using electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Travel throughout the Northeast Health District may be required.
