Job description

Playcare is hiring teachers!

45-hour DCF and CPR certification is preferred, but we will assist the right candidate in obtaining theirs. We also offer assistance in obtaining your FCCPC Credential while you work and earn a paycheck!

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Supervising and monitoring the safety of children, organizing mealtimes and snacks for children, helping children maintain good hygiene, dressing and changing the diapers of toddlers and preschoolers, organizing activities, or implementing a curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests, developing schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime, watching for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring the problems to the attention of the director and parents, keeping records of children’s progress, routines, and interests, and cleaning/sanitizing toys and equipment.

Work Schedule: Work schedules vary based on the needs of the center, and may include holidays, early mornings, and/or late evenings. The center is open year-round from 6 am until 6 pm. Teachers are required to be flexible and open in their availability.

Training and screening requirements: All employees are required to complete background and employment history checks, and possess the necessary certifications to work in a center funded by Florida's School Readiness Program. Completion of the Department of Children and Families 45-hour child care training program is preferred upon hire and required within one year. CPR and First Aid certification and 10 hours of continuing education classes a year are required.

Pay and Benefits: All positions are non-exempt, hourly positions. Pay rates vary according to the education and experience of the applicant. Benefits include paid sick days, paid personal/vacation time, and paid holidays as described in the employee handbook.

Physical requirements: Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, twisting, and sitting. This is a high energy position requiring a tolerance for both indoor and outdoor environments in a variety of conditions and noise levels. Cleaning and sanitizing walls, floors, bathrooms, and other equipment with approved chemicals.
