๐Ÿ”ฅ NIGHT-SHIFT EMERGENCY ROOM (ER) RN CONTRACT โ€“ ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) in Rochester, New York. Operating within Rochester General Hospitalโ€”a prestigious 528-bed Magnet-recognized, tertiary teaching hospital and certified Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Centerโ€”this position offers a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). First-time travelers are welcome to apply! If you are an acute care emergency nurse proficient in trauma stabilization, stroke protocols, dysrhythmia management, ventilator care, and Epic EMR looking to earn $2,456/week in Upstate New York, this assignment is built for you!

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Block scheduling is not offered.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly (facility call-off policy: up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract).
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation.
  • On-Call Requirements: Standby call rate is $8.00/hr ($92.12/hr call-back rate at 1.35x).
  • Clinical Scope & Unit Highlights: State-of-the-art emergency department featuring high-acuity adult trauma suites steps from the ambulance bay, dedicated crisis intervention, and advanced diagnostic technology.
  • Patient Ratios & Care: Target ratio is 1:5 across adults and geriatrics. Unit manages comprehensive emergency diagnoses, neuro-trauma/TBI, spinal cord injury, stroke/CVA thrombectomy pathways, rapid infusions, vasopressors, BiPAP/ventilated patients, and procedural sedation.
  • Floating Requirements: Float within clinical skillset as operationally required.
  • EMR & Scrubs: Epic EMR (hard requirement); scrub colors are any combination of navy blue and white.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of emergency room (ER) clinical experience is required (1 year minimum required by compliance). First-time travelers accepted!
  • Licensure: Active New York State (NYS) RN License strictly required in hand at submittal (NY is not a compact state; pending licenses will not be accepted).
  • Certifications Required: * Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) โ€” must include proof in submittal packet
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • TNCC is preferred.
  • Radius Rule: Candidates residing within a 75-mile radius of the facility are not eligible for travel rates.
  • Rehire Policy: Former Rochester Regional Health staff must have a minimum 6-month separation across the system before returning as travelers.
