Concentric Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Ortho/Bariatric/Colorectal Post-Op)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide post-operative care for orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, and colorectal surgery patients on a 28-bed elective surgery and Level III trauma unit
  • Monitor and manage telemetry patients; unit supports up to 8 telemetry patients simultaneously
  • Care for Level III trauma patients and Medical-Surgical overflow as census permits
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records system
  • Adhere to unit protocols, patient safety standards, and required weekend and holiday scheduling obligations
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of recent, relevant Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR required — no exceptions
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in post-operative orthopedic, bariatric, or colorectal surgical nursing
  • Strong telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills; EKG competency testing required (80% or higher to pass)
  • Comfort with a 1:7 patient ratio in a fast-paced surgical/trauma environment
