Description
Analyze and interpret data for institutional and external reporting.Develop new and update/maintain existing reports and dashboards to support effective decision-making across the institution.Assist in developing a suite of self-service reports, dashboards, and data connections to improve access to accurate and consistent data across the institution.Perform ad hoc data collection and data analysis as needed for various constituents across the institution.Produce and maintain documentation of data and processes.
Examples of Duties
Prepare and analyze quantitative and qualitative studies across a spectrum of areas:-50%
  • Including design, data validation, and performing tests of reasonableness.
  • Utilize multiple technology applications including data visualization tools to collect and/or analyze data and to prepare/present results.
Analyze and interpret data for institutional and external reporting: -50%
  • Development and maintenance of automated reports.
  • Perform ad hoc data collection and data analysis as needed for various constituents across the institution.
  • Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, CIS, computer science, mathematics or related field required.
  • Master's degree in statistics, economics, CIS, computer science, mathematics, student affairs, higher education or related field preferred.
Experience:
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, and the ability to understand and analyze quantitative information preferred.
  • Experience with sophisticated information management tools preferred.
  • Experience in data manipulation preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred.
  • Experience with coding and programming languages such as R, Python and SQL preferred.
  • Experience with BANNER and writing ARGOS reports preferred.
  • Experience completing or contributing to IPEDS and other federal reports for National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) preferred.
