Job description

Novva, is seeking a data center Junior Mission Critical Engineer to join our Data Center Mission Critical team. The Junior Mission Critical Engineer will be a part of the Mission Critical team responsible for operating and maintaining critical systems in our data centers. The candidate will need to be experienced in diverse industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, cooling technologies and fire protection systems. This position is a day shift hourly position and will be a 12-hour shift starting at 7am and ending at 7pm in a rotating 2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off pattern.

High-level responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Conducts regular walks through Data Center during the day assessing systems for health alerts.

  • To oversee all Mission Critical infrastructure outside of normal business hours.

  • Monitor and respond to alerts from various monitoring systems.

  • Identify critical system issues with large scale impact and escalate.

  • Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of Facility and customer issues.

  • Provide local access and escort for vendors and carriers.

  • Provide support to internal teams.

Skills:


  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • Knowledge of general industry networking technologies such as UPS, Generators, and Mechanical systems.

  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple project deadlines.

  • Tracking of all work via ticketing system.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Data Center industry experience preferred but not required.
