School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Hourly Rate: $32.00–$38.00 per hour, based on experience

Location: Surprise, AZ
Onsite – School Setting

Position Summary

As a School-Based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide nursing support to an assigned student within Dysart Unified School District. This position includes supporting the student throughout the school day and riding the school bus with the student as required. You will work closely with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. At RCM Healthcare Services, we connect nursing professionals with meaningful school-based opportunities and provide support throughout the placement process.

Responsibilities Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details: Monday through Friday; 8-hour school-day schedule
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Contract length: 2026–2027 school year
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Riding the school bus with the assigned student is required
Key Duties
  • Provide nursing support to the assigned student during the school day and while riding the school bus
  • Monitor the student’s health and respond appropriately to medical needs or changes in condition
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, the student’s healthcare plan, district protocols, and the LPN scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate nursing notes, treatment records, and other required documentation
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, supervising nurses, and healthcare providers to support the student’s health and safety
Requirements Education
  • Required: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Arizona
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Additional school district clearances and certifications as required
Skills
  • Ability to provide attentive and dependable nursing support in school and transportation settings
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to recognize changes in a student’s condition and respond according to established protocols
