Job Description
SmileWorks Children’s Dentistry & Orthodontics is seeking an energetic, compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children and families. Our growing practice is dedicated to creating healthy, confident smiles through exceptional pediatric dental and orthodontic care.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, works well on a team, and is eager to learn. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required; we provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.
A Florida Dental Radiology License is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during pediatric dental and orthodontic procedures
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
  • Take and process dental radiographs in compliance with Florida regulations
  • Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Follow infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols
  • Help manage patient flow and support scheduling as needed
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
  • Florida Dental Radiology License (required)
  • Pediatric dental experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong chairside assisting skills
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and procedures
  • Understanding of infection control and aseptic techniques
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative, and perform well in a busy environment
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Open Dental software is a plus
