Job description

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Goldeneye, Calera, Kosta Browne, Sonoma-Cutrer, and Greenwing.

Duckhorn Vineyards is looking for Seasonal cellar interns for Harvest 2026 to work at our St. Helena production facility. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-end fruit from many of Napa Valley’s diverse micro-climates and to learn about all aspects of harvest activities in the cellar, as well as assist with some non-harvest cellar activities, such as racking barrels and bottling. Harvest Cellar Interns will be responsible for working with the winemaking team to create iconic luxury wines. Interns will assist with grape processing, fermentation management, and our extensive barrel program, in addition to other essential cellar responsibilities.

What we will ask you to do:

  • Sanitation, including tanks, barrels, presses, and cellar equipment.
  • Compliance with all safety policies.
  • Grape processing, including receiving and sorting.
  • Cellar equipment operation, including air, wine and must pumps, presses and destemmers.
  • Fermentation management, including inoculations, active fermentation tracking, additions, pump-overs and punch downs, and draining, shoveling tanks, and pressing.
  • Barrel management, including barrel preparation, barrel stacking and filling, barrel fermentation and barrel topping.
  • Other cellar projects and tasks as needed.

What you will need:

  • Basic cellar skills, harvest experience a plus. Must have a willingness to learn.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to follow verbal and written English instructions. Spanish language a plus.
  • Must be a team player, be open to suggestions and able to collaborate with others, as well as able to work independently.
  • Possess a positive attitude, a commitment to accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform the necessary physical labor: lift at least 50 lbs. above the shoulders, climb ladders and stairs, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, and stand for several hours, at times with exposure to the elements, including sun, rain and wind.

What we will provide:

  • The hourly range for this position is $21-$25/hr. (DOE).
  • Discounts on wine and merchandise.
  • Sick time accrual.
  • A diverse team of coworkers that care about each other in a fun, exciting work environment.
  • A company that promotes from within, provides great training and development programs and opportunities.
