Job description

NYBC is seeking New Graduates and Experienced Registered Nurses to join their Therapeutic/Cellular Apheresis team.

As a key member of our team, this role is responsible for performing all aspects of therapeutic/cellular apheresis procedures on both adult and pediatric population in a mobile setting as per NYBC standard operating procedures and policies. This role offers self-scheduling with four weekend days guaranteed off per month.
Responsibilities include:
• Performs all therapeutic or cellular apheresis procedures independently by identifying required criteria, obtaining consent, performing patient physical assessment and documentation.

• Provides care and follow-up instructions related to access and reports any abnormal findings to appropriate personnel.
• Administers blood products and medications during procedures per physician’s orders, calculating and reconstitution of medication related to procedure.
• Completes all required forms/ electronic record.
• Operates equipment related to performing procedures and troubleshoot alarms and reports abnormal findings.
• Maintains inventory of supply needs and assists with on-site par levels.
• May be required to travel to NY, NJ, CT and PA.


Qualifications

No Apheresis experience required. To qualify, you must fit into 1 of the following categories.

New Graduate Registered Nurses
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Past LPN experience or experience in a clinical setting.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.


Experienced Registered Nurses
• An Associate Degree in Nursing plus five years of clinical experience in medical/surgery, emergency, or telemetry
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing plus three years of clinical experience in medical/surgery, emergency, or telemetry
• RN Licensure in one of the states of operation upon hire (NY/NJ/CT/PA), and licensure in all three states of operation within one year of appointment, (exceptions are left up to department discretion)

• 5 years combination of education, training and experience equivalent to that listed above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
All applicants are required to have a valid driver’s license and a BCLS Certification

This position requires on-call shifts.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hourly salary is $45.00/hr. to $60.00/hr. For positions outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
