Line Cook - DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans Airport
Location: Kenner, LA (New Orleans Airport Area)
Department: Hospitality | Hourly | Non-Exempt

What You'll Do
As a Line Cook, you'll play a key role in delivering the high-quality dishes our guests expect. Your day will include:
Station Setup & Prep
  • Stock and set up your station with all required tools, ingredients, and equipment
  • Complete daily prep tasks: chopping, slicing, butchering proteins, preparing sauces, and more

Cooking & Menu Execution
  • Prepare menu items to order with accuracy and consistency
  • Follow hotel recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines
  • Coordinate timing with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service

Quality & Presentation
  • Ensure every dish meets DoubleTree's standards for flavor, temperature, and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace

Food Safety & Sanitation
  • Follow all health department regulations and ServSafe standards
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces throughout your shift

Inventory & Stock Control
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and rotating stock (FIFO)
  • Report low inventory, spoilage, or waste

Teamwork & Communication
  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, and room service to ensure timely orders
  • Handle dietary requests and modifications with care and accuracy

What We're Looking For
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Line Cook (hotel or high-volume kitchen preferred)
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in grilling, sautรฉing, frying, and other cooking methods
  • Food Handler or ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and efficient during high-volume service

Working Conditions
This role requires:
  • Exposure to high heat, cold storage, steam, and kitchen machinery
