Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. We pride ourselves in being a family-oriented organization with a goal of upholding the safety and health of our number one asset, our employees. Position OverviewThe Non-DoT Quarry Rigid Frame Haul Truck Driver will work hand in hand with the Plant Manager to transport equipment/loads to and from various areas onsite of the plant. The ideal candidate is familiar with heavy load transportation and keeps safety at the forefront. Key Responsibilities Transport material to various locations of an active HMA or AGG plant.Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working orderPerforms daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.Familiarity with heavy transportationUnderstands the complexities of the HMA and AGG industriesComplete trip tickets and paperworkUtilize phone and apps for various aspects of role requirementsKeeping the vehicle clean and fitting company standardsCarries out daily preventative maintenance, records, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.Performs and logs pre-trip and post-trip inspections. QualificationsMinimum of 2 years experienceMust be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.Must be positive, friendly, and professional.Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required. Knowledge/Skill RequirementsEntry Level PositionHigh School Diploma or GED but not requiredKnowledge of how the vehicles operateWorking knowledge of asphalt and aggregate production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferredFamiliarity with OSHA and MSHA regulations, a plus Working ConditionsDrivers will transport items onsite at HMA and AGG plants, which include construction sites, mines, and other heavy equipment operations.Employees must have the ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environments, temperatures, and weather conditions, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.Exposure to grease, oils, and lubricants.Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.Proper PPE is required at all times. BenefitsThis position is FULL TIMEThe pay structure for this role will be based on competitive hourly rateThis position will qualify for the employee benefit programsComprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs401k retirement planEmployee Stock Purchase Plan The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
