Job Description
Senior Accountant
Summary:
Individual will be responsible for various month end close tasks, general ledger and global financial consolidation activities, SOX 404 compliance, and support of the audit process.
Individual will be a key contributor to various SEC external reporting requirements, and will assist in technical accounting research/position documentation. Individual will also have a dual role in finance and assist the finance team in consistent metric and budget vs. actual reporting framework that will be the basis for critical business decisions and budgeting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Participation in all activities related to the monthly close process including accurate & timely preparation of journal entries and the timely research/resolution of P&L issues and questions
  2. Preparation of various GL maintenance activities
  3. Preparation of supporting schedules for the 10-Q, 10-K and internal company reporting deliverables
  4. Aid in the compliance with SOX 404 requirements & procedures
  5. Preparation of audit support schedules
  6. Preparation of balance sheet account analyses & reconciliations (i.e. various accruals, intercompany, equity, other asset & liabilities, etc.) and compilation/ownership of maintaining relevant supporting documents
  7. Ownership of certain accrual accounts which require high interaction and collaboration with various ELGX departments
  8. Assist with tax return PBC preparation
  9. Assist with various finance & accounting system implementations and build-out projects, as necessary;
  10. Assist in FAS 123(r) calculations, utilizing Equity Edge Online
  11. Special projects, as assigned
  12. Compile or prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed. Prepare forecasts and analyzes trends in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other areas
  13. Evaluate performance against established metrics to determine acceptable levels of quality or efficiency for various business functions and units
  14. Conduct ad hoc and pro forma what if analysis based on various operational decisions
  15. Prepare special cost and operational reports, coordinate and prepare annual operating and capital budgets, Business Plan, and related cost and financial projections
  16. Perform monthly variance and outlook analyses, report, resolve, and reconcile discrepancies. Construct P/L for diverse verticals

Requirements
Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance dual or minor a plus
  2. 3-4 years progressive growth in dynamic work environments - (minimum 2 yrs public accounting experience)
  3. CPA heavily preferred
  4. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting requirements
  5. Highly motivated with the ability to work on a team as well as independently and drive results
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
  7. Proficiency in ERP accounting software is preferred (QAD - bonus)
  8. Extreme attention to detail, high levels of professionalism and excellent communication skills
  9. Strong general ledger skills; involvement with process improvement
  10. Works on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluations of identifiable factors;
  11. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  12. Highly analytical and able to efficiently problem-solve in dynamic work environment
  13. Normally receives no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments
