Position Overview:

The Controller will oversee all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly within the construction/manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
  • Manage all aspects of financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Prepare and present financial statements.
  • Oversee cash flow management and liquidity.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Internal Controls:
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Provide financial analysis and insights for business decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior management on long-term financial strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and develop the accounting team.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary skills and tools.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting financial operations.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Optimize accounting processes and systems.
  • Implement and maintain financial management tools.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required).
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the construction/manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
