APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with Turning Point in Mount Clemens, MI looking to add a Hotline Resident Advocate to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to provide crisis support and advocacy to hotline callers and shelter residents while ensuring their safety and confidentiality. Keep reading for more details!

What your day will look like:
- Uphold and model the agency’s mission, empowerment philosophy, and program goals.
- Administer and ensure compliance with agency policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Maintain confidentiality, accurate recordkeeping, and adherence to ethical practices.
- Respond to calls on the agency’s 24-hour hotline, providing immediate crisis intervention and emotional support.
- Dispatch First Responders and Forensic Nurse Examiners as needed.
- Offer crisis counseling and support services to hotline callers and shelter residents.
- Conduct phone and in-person shelter intakes, assessing client needs and safety.
- Assess suicidal ideation and lethality; take appropriate intervention measures.
- Document hotline calls, client services, and shelter activities accurately and promptly.
- Provide information, resources, and referrals to clients and community members.
- Ensure the safety and security of shelter residents, staff, and facilities.
- Complete all tasks listed on the Resident Advocate “Mandatory Daily Log.”
- Participate in the on-call emergency midnight schedule as required.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., children’s program, case management, facilities) and external partners to coordinate services.
- Immediately report emergency situations affecting staff or clients to the Director of Hotline, Deputy Director, or CEO.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or Education.
- 1+ year of experience in social services, sexual assault crisis counseling, and/or hotline or intervention work preferred.
- Demonstrated experience providing trauma-informed direct services.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check required.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a good driving record preferred.
