Hotel Maintenance Technician

Location: Victorville, CA

Pay: $25–$27 per hour


A select-service hotel in Victorville, California is seeking a dependable and experienced Hotel Maintenance Technician. This hands-on position is responsible for keeping guest rooms, public areas, equipment, grounds, and building systems safe, functional, clean, and well maintained.

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, routine repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting while responding promptly to guest and operational needs. The ideal candidate has broad general maintenance knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and understands the importance of completing repairs efficiently while maintaining a professional, guest-focused approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance throughout guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems
  • Respond promptly to guest-room maintenance requests and troubleshoot common repair issues
  • Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, and bathroom equipment
  • Complete general repairs including painting, drywall, caulking, carpentry, flooring, and other property maintenance
  • Work closely with Front Office and Housekeeping to return out-of-order rooms to available inventory as quickly as possible
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas for damage, wear, safety concerns, and maintenance needs
  • Monitor major building systems and report equipment failures or conditions requiring specialized service
  • Assist outside contractors and service providers with property access and project coordination
  • Maintain hotel grounds, entrances, parking areas, walkways, and exterior spaces
  • Support property improvement, renovation, and brand-standard projects as needed
  • Maintain organized maintenance shops, mechanical rooms, tools, parts, and supplies
  • Follow all workplace safety, emergency-response, key-control, and room-entry procedures
  • Provide courteous and professional service while minimizing disruption to hotel guests

Ideal Experience

  • Previous general maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, apartment maintenance, hotel engineering, or related trade experience
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs
  • Previous hotel maintenance or engineering experience preferred
  • Select-service or Marriott hotel experience is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve common maintenance problems
  • Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic testing equipment
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool operations, or facilities maintenance training or certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to prioritize urgent guest and operational maintenance requests
  • Professional communication skills and a guest-service mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with hotel departments
