Hotel Shuttle Driver & Houseman

$16-16.50/hr plus Insurance + Benefits + Bonuses

Job Description:  

Multiple positions both Full-time & Part-time (weekends & weekdays)
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Madison Central, an award-winning hotel, is seeking a motivated professional Shuttle Driver to join our team. We offer the opportunity to build a rewarding long term career in hospitality.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all hotel guests, making their stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible while achieving team and Brand goals.
  • Safely operate the hotel shuttle to transport guests to and from the property. Abiding by posted speed limits in a defensive manner.
  • Report any vehicle problems to management immediately, i.e., problems with brakes, wipers, lights, tires, etc.
  • Maintain security for guests and property by ensuring doors are locked.
  • Advise management when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Clean and maintain common areas, i.e., elevators, guest laundry, stock suite shop using FIFO, stock manager reception items, meeting rooms, hallways, stairs, pool and exercise areas,  break-room, windows, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming rugs and floors.
  • Assist guests by loading and unloading luggage.Ensure the shuttle is clean, presentable, fueled and well-maintained at all times.
  • Provide general property maintenance support, including tasks such as maintaining cleanliness in the parking area, collecting litter, cleaning common areas, emptying trash receptacles, washing windows as needed, and performing errands such as bank and store runs, along with other duties as assigned Support event or reception setup, stocking, and breakdown activities as assigned.
  • May be asked to operate a motor vehicle while running errands for the  hotel.
  • Willingness and ability to train new associates.
  • Remain highly visible and always be readily available for guests
  • Support team members to ensure the team’s entire workload is completed daily
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Communicate the benefits of being an IHG One Rewards Club Member with guests. 
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of business and financial matters and information related to the property, owner(s), partners, guests, associates, etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a courteous, tactful and patient manner with other associates, management, guests, vendors, suppliers, and other members of the general public conducting business with the property.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel operations or ability to learn quickly.
  • Dedicated, hard-working, self-motivated.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Knowledgeable driving laws and regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Ability to drive safely in inclement weather conditions.
  • Practice safety standards at all times.
  • Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment. 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Work flexible hours and/or overtime as required. The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work and overtime as required.
  • This is a daytime position usually running from 6:50am to 3pm, with flexibility to start shifts at 5am for speciality runs.
  • Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional behavior and appearance standards.
  • Carry out all reasonable requests by team leaders and managers and act as a team player with all levels of staff.
  • Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings.
  • Adhere to property policies and procedures, the Employee Handbook, and/or other property and IMM documents.
  • Immediately report any suspicious activities by guests or others.
  • Good driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain certification.
