HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Works in the Quality Control Department. Performs mechanical inspection of precision-machined components and assemblies. Utilizes basic computer skills and demonstrates ability in geometry and interpretation of ANSI Y14.5M.Follows procedures specific to products and specific to Quality Systems such as ISO. Reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.


Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

WHATSUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Works under direct supervision.
  • Performs visual inspections using workmanship standards.
  • Performs inspection of mechanical components.
  • Fills out applicable QC documents per QC procedures.
  • Uses computer system daily.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Performs inspection of mechanical components.
  • Inspection of sub-assemblies and finished assemblies will require the innate ability to learn new Inspection Techniques.
  • Reviews supplier inspection data and collects data as required.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Interfaces with production personnel daily.
  • Sets up and uses close tolerance precision gaging (bore gaging, sine plates, height gages)
  • Perform First Article, Work in Process, Final, Visual and FAI inspections.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications with general supervision.
  • Calibrates and maintains inspection equipment as required.
  • Performs inspection at supplier sites as required.
  • Interfaces with design and manufacturing engineers and planners to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.
  • Achievement of objectives must include an over-riding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • High school diploma/GED preferred with 1-3 years of relevant experience or 3 years' experience in technicalposition, or equivalent education in a manufacturing in lieu of education.
  • Must have experience with calipers, height gauge, micrometers, go/no go gauge, etc.
