Delta Hotels by Marriott Seattle Everett is seeking a talented Line Cook to join our team. The Line Cook is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and an intentional, artistic approach to culinary execution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:

  • Scratch cooking techniques and made-in-house food production, from stocks and sauces to breads and charcuterie, in a high-volume hotel kitchen setting.
  • Cooking techniques across grill, sauté, flat top, and oven stations, including grilling, sautéing, braising, and roasting to quality guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Proper set up, operation, and cleaning of stations and equipment, including grills, flat top ranges, convection ovens, sauté burners, and related kitchen equipment.
  • Food and beverage products, preparation, and handling techniques.
  • Health codes, food sanitation, and safety practices (ServSafe or equivalent).
  • Basic math skills necessary to read recipes, scale measurements, calculate requisition amounts, and portion accurately.
  • Principles of customer service, including needs assessment and evaluation of guest satisfaction.

Skills and Ability to:

  • Execute scratch-made recipes and standardized prep with consistency and precision on the grill, sauté, flat top, and oven stations, working collaboratively across the line as part of a full team effort.
  • Set up, stock, and break down assigned stations, and cook to order in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality and plate presentation standards.
  • Acknowledge, understand, and abide by company programs, policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt quickly to shifting volume and menu changes to meet productivity requirements.
  • Meet quality standards for food and service, maintaining a clean, organized, and properly stocked station at all times.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English to convey information effectively to kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor under pressure and during constantly changing, fast-paced service situations, including extended periods of standing, walking, and exposure to heat.
  • Wear appropriate uniform and name badge, and maintain personal cleanliness as prescribed by company policy.
  • Establish and maintain effective, professional, courteous, and constructive relationships with guests, staff, and management.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years progressively responsible culinary experience; previous hotel background and supervisory experience preferred.
Licenses:
  • Valid Food Handlers Permit.
