Job Summary:

Our Line Cooks play an essential role in delivering a consistent and enjoyable dining experience for our guests. This hands-on culinary position is responsible for preparing and executing menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and food safety requirements while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.

The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in food quality and presentation, and understands the importance of teamwork between the kitchen and front-of-house. This position primarily supports dinner and evening service and may also assist with banquets, special events, and other culinary operations based on hotel needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Set up and fully stock assigned stations with necessary ingredients, supplies, and equipment before service.
  • Execute guest orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining food quality and consistency during periods of high volume.
  • Monitor ticket times and communicate effectively with fellow culinary team members and front-of-house staff to support timely guest service.
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, temperature control, storage, and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sanitized workstation throughout each shift.
  • Complete required food preparation, including portioning, cutting, labeling, dating, and proper storage of ingredients.
  • Follow established procedures for product rotation, inventory control, and minimizing food waste.
  • Inspect ingredients and prepared items for freshness, quality, and proper presentation before service.
  • Assist with banquet functions, special events, and other Food & Beverage operations as needed.
  • Complete assigned closing duties, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, properly storing food products, restocking stations, and completing kitchen breakdown procedures.
  • Properly operate and maintain kitchen equipment while immediately reporting equipment or maintenance concerns.
  • Follow all hotel policies, health department requirements, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Culinary, Food & Beverage, and other hotel departments to provide an exceptional guest experience.
  • Participate in department meetings, training, and ongoing initiatives related to food quality, safety, service, and hotel standards.
Salary Description:

Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour, DOE 

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Previous line cook, restaurant, or professional kitchen experience preferred; candidates with relevant culinary training will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities during service.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively as part of a culinary and Food & Beverage team.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on hotel business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment:
  • Work is performed primarily in a professional commercial kitchen and hotel Food & Beverage environment.
  • Regular exposure to hot surfaces, ovens, grills, cooking equipment, steam, sharp utensils, cleaning products, and varying temperatures is expected.
