EVENT SALES AND PLANNING MANAGER

The Event Sales and Planning Manager sells and manages both catering events and the servicing of group sales bookings.

This position is responsible for selling and overseeing assigned catering segments and the upselling, detailing, and servicing of sales groups with guestrooms, function space, food, and beverage including menu planning and detailing, agenda setting, hotel onsite meeting services, hospitality amenities, and special VIP requests.

Duties also include contract/payment review and collection, and facilitating communication before, during and post event to ensure a high level of service. This manager is also responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction through detailed and timely communication with hotel operations. Event Sales and Planning Managers also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate, and may lead internal event meetings and client pre-convention meetings. This is the primary liaison between the hotel and the client, once the group has been booked, and turned over by group sales.

This position collaborates closely with the Director of Sales, Marketing and Events and the hotel Operations and Sales/Events teams.

Refined verbal and written communication skills

A minimum of 2 - 4 years of hotel event sales, and event planning experience

Strong financial acumen

Must be proficient in current technology

Candidates should be extremely meticulous, organized and be able to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
