Job description

PART-TIME HOUSEKEEPER

St. Benedict's Abbey is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to help keep our facility clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to a positive environment for our guests, residents, and staff.

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train motivated individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and work well as part of a team.  Flexible hours 

Housekeeper Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products, ensuring their safe and sanitary storage and use.
  • Sweep, scrub, mop, and maintain hardwood, laminate, and tiled flooring as needed.
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs and perform spot cleaning, shampooing, or stain removal when necessary.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and room accessories.
  • Clean and sanitize sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets in private and public restrooms.
  • Change bed linens and collect used linens and towels for laundering.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, glass surfaces, countertops, and other high-touch areas.
  • Keep public spaces neat, clean, and presentable at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues, repairs, or replacements that may be needed.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions and work independently when required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
