JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24

WORK SHIFT: RN Extended Recovery (6p-6a). No holidays; 3rd Friday night monthly. Part-time.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities for the Medical/Surgical patient. Activities include, but are not limited to, use of the nursing process in the utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient. Registered Nurses also supervise the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants. Registered Nurses work within the framework of the State Nurse Practice Act and follow hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse also complies with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. The Registered Nurse will support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program. Current LA RN licensure. Current BLS and ACLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Basic EKG preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.

Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing
