Med-Surg Registered Nurse (Travel)
Requirements
- New York RN license required at the time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- Prior travel experience documented
- Required: BLS certification
- Preferred: ACLS certification
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a Med-Surg unit.
- Manage IV starts, peripheral line care, and PICC/central line management.
- Administer blood products and conduct phlebotomy.
- Perform wound care, including the use of Wound Vac.
- Provide care for feeding tubes and colostomies/ileostomies.
- Administer medications including heparin and insulin, and care for patients undergoing total joint replacements.
- Monitor EKG as required.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend coverage is required.
- Must be willing to float within the facility as needed based on skillset.
- Submission documents required: recent Nursys verification, certifications, SSN/DOB, references.
- Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the partner facility are not accepted.
- Complete required RN modules and HealthStream modules by the specified deadline before starting.
- High pass standards for EKG exam may apply for relevant units.
