Position Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Supervisor to join their growing team.

This leadership role is ideal for a licensed RVT with strong clinical experience and proven supervisory capabilities. The successful candidate will oversee technician staff performance, training, scheduling, compliance, and daily operations while ensuring exceptional patient care.


Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Patient Care
  • Work directly with veterinarians and medical leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and positive outcomes

  • Utilize RVT skills to the fullest extent of licensure and training

  • Support proper handling, restraint, and treatment of patients

Team Supervision & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop veterinary technician team members

  • Conduct performance evaluations and participate in disciplinary actions when necessary

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance improvement plans

  • Promote a positive, motivated, and accountable team culture

Operations & Administration
  • Create and manage technician staff schedules

  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures

  • Coordinate with leadership and administrative staff to support hospital success

  • Communicate concerns, updates, and operational issues across departments effectively

Inventory & Equipment Management
  • Oversee hospital inventory and ordering procedures

  • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of equipment

Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with:

    • DEA regulations

    • OSHA standards

    • AAHA accreditation requirements

  • Maintain accurate handling and documentation of controlled substances

Conflict Resolution & Culture
  • Resolve workplace conflicts professionally and constructively

  • Help maintain strong staff morale and a healthy work environment


Required Qualifications
  • Valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) License issued by the California State Board of Examiners in Veterinary Medicine

  • Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience

  • Proven leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Strong knowledge of animal restraint and handling techniques
