These inspections may cover a variety of areas, such as infection control, medical record keeping, patient rights, and facility maintenance. The purpose of hospital inspections is to protect patient safety, improve healthcare quality, and ensure hospitals are operating according to laws and best practices. Inspections can be scheduled or unannounced, and facilities must address any deficiencies identified during the process.
