This up-and-coming, multi discipline facility just across the boarder from Memphis, Tennessee is looking for a new Stable Manager/Instructor to help them grow! This facility is already well into development, boasting a 50 acre, lower level eventing course, 3 outdoor arenas and an Indoor under construction, a 12 stall pole barn and competition barn in the works, a couple of show series, and big plans for improvement! This is a team who believes in supporting their employees and providing opportunities for their team to reach their goals. Individuals applying for this job must be experienced equestrians first and foremost, but also share the kind and caring spirit embodied by the rest of the team at this facility.
This is a well-staffed, well organized equestrian operation under the leadership of a globally accomplished FEI equestrian. Applicants will be expected to partake in the daily care chores of the horses, though they will have the opportunity to shift their focus to teaching & training as the facility matures.
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Stable Manager who can also take on increasing teaching/training responsibilities as the show teams develop! The ideal candidate will have a background in either the hunter/jumper or barrel racing disciplines - and will be a knowledgeable equestrian above all else. This person will be responsible for overseeing the health and well-being of all horses on site, along with the management of their support staff. This individual will be given the opportunity to grow a lesson program in their preferred discipline - and as that program grows they will be able to decrease their time spent with care responsibilities and increase their time teaching. Currently, the facility is home to 15 full-time residents, 8 of which are stable boarders, but has serious ambitions to grow in the immediate future!
As this is a growing facility with a maturing show program and an extremely accomplished and ambitious leader, anyone joining this team should be ready and willing to "wear all the hats" and grow in a fast-paced environment. This program offers quality work/life balance, and rewards those with a true passion for the industry.

Job Duties
- Oversee the daily care and well-being of all horses on-site
- Design feeding and care protocols along with Equestrian Director for each horse
- Assist with basic farm chores including feeding, stall cleaning, turn-in and turn-out, blanketing, etc
- Administer medications and medical treatments as needed - including IV/IM medications
- Collaborate closely with Equestrian Director on growth and direction of the program as a whole
- Mentor and Lead support staff and students in and around the barns
- Manage staff schedules and digital records for staff and horses
- Manage horse care budget and reporting along with Equestrian Director and Finance staff
- Develop and Grow a lesson program in your preferred discipline
- Prepare for each lesson by ensuring the horses are ready and the arena prepared for your unique lesson plan
- Maintain tack and equipment related to your horses/students
- Assist with the organization and participation of shows at the home facility and beyond

Job Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in a Stable Management capacity or greater
- Willingness to be on-call for emergencies related to horses in your care
- Ability to recognize lameness, communicate effectively with vet & farrier & leadership, and administer medications/rehab protocols to horses in need
- Willing, fit, and able to ride a variety of horses from experienced school horses to green prospects as program grows
- Experience teaching students of all ages in your preferred discipline
- Willingness to teach beginner riders as well as advanced riders
- Willingness to travel to shows, clinics, schoolings, and educational events
- Experience promoting and building an equestrian lesson program
- Ability to drive a truck & trailer, and willingness to haul client horses
- *Experience in (or willingness to learn) managing the operations of schooling horse shows
