During the Full-Service Oil Change, the hood technician is responsible for performing all of the services in the engine compartment. The hood technician is also responsible for directing the activities in the bay area, ensuring that the service has been thoroughly completed and recorded on the Work Order. During the Full-Service Oil Change, the hood technician’s duties include:
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 
·         Work safely 
·         Conduct Vehicle Inspections 
·         Wear safety gear 
·         Use Echo System 
·         Direct the vehicle into the bay 
·         Perform light check 
·         Place fender covers on the vehicle 
·         Echo services and vehicle information 
·         Check/fill automatic transmission fluid, when applicable 
·         Check the condition and level of oil 
·         Remove and check emissions components: air filter, cabin air filter, breather, and radiator cap 
·         Deliver emissions components to center manager for customer presentation 
·         Top-off fluids: power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, coolant, battery electrolyte 
·         Test coolant 
·         Perform a visual inspection of belts, hoses, and other hood compartment components, document              unusual conditions 
·         Replace top-side oil filter, when applicable 
·         Add the correct amount of oil 
·         Perform additional services, when applicable 
·         Install emissions components 
·         Perform final safety and quality check 
·         Record information on Work Order
·         Clean and organize own work area
 
Job Qualifications 
 
·         Vehicle Inspectors License a plus - but ability to get one a must.·         Customer service skills
·         Basic literacy (ready, writing, math skills)
·         Ability and license to operate motor vehicles
·         Verbal communication skills
·         Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools
·         Attention to detail
