Job description

Huntington Learning Center has been helping students reach their academic goals for more than 45 years. We are looking for talented professionals who will help students in grades K-6 achieve self-confidence, motivation, and academic success. Our programs support students in closing the COVID gap, re-engaging in their education, reaching their goal test scores, and moving to the front of the class academically. We offer tutoring in reading, phonics, and writing; math and sciences; as well as IEP, ADHD, and study skills support.
After a paid training period to learn our methods, you will spend your time teaching and making a difference in children’s lives. We provide the curriculum and develop individualized programs for each student. There are no lesson plans to create or homework assignments to grade, just teaching and helping each child grow!
The Opportunity:
  • Work with students in a 1 to 1 setting, or across a small group of 2-4 students.
  • Focus on reading readiness, phonics, reading comprehension, writing skills, and early math.
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities.
  • All curriculum is provided, and tutoring takes place in the center.
  • Flexible, part-time hours weekdays and Saturdays.
  • Collaborative, fun, and rewarding work environment.

Teaching Hours:
  • School Year: Monday - Thursday 2-8:30pm; Fridays 2-7pm; Saturdays 9am-3pm.
  • Summer: Monday - Friday 9am-7pm; Saturdays 9am-3pm.

Requirements Include:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college is required.
  • Classroom experience and teaching certification/license are desired, but not required.
  • Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students!
