Job description

Home Help Program

Homemakers

Homemakers provide light housekeeping, shopping, laundry and assistance with meal preparation to eligible clients to encourage their independence and enable them to remain in their homes safely and with dignity.

Clients of the service are frail seniors and adults with disabilities living in the city of Guelph.

Homemakers are matched with clients and provide services on a regular basis to clients.

Home Help is a brokered program. Homemakers are self-employed and are not bonded by Guelph Independent Living.

The client pays the fee for services directly to the Homemaker. There is a set pay of $45.00 per 2-hour booking minimum. Grocery shopping and heavy cleaning can be requested at an additional fee set by the agency.

This position is part-time with flexible hours.

Homemakers must have access to a reliable vehicle. Successful applicants must provide a criminal reference check before they can be matched with a client.
