Job description

Canvas Craft | Otsego, MN$25–$30/hr | Full-Time | Home Every NightThe JobYou'll be part of a two-person crew installing custom awnings, shade structures, canopies, tension systems, and fabric shelters across the Twin Cities metro. Most days you're local — out in the morning, home by the end of the day. The work is varied: one day you're mounting a commercial awning on a storefront, the next you're rigging a shade sail at a restaurant patio or swapping seasonal covers at a car wash.About once or twice a month you'll tackle a larger structural install that takes real problem-solving — anchoring into different building types, adapting to site conditions, making it work when the drawings and reality don't perfectly match. That's where the job gets interesting and where your mechanical instincts matter most.Out-of-town travel is rare — roughly once a quarter for 3-4 nights. The rest of the time, you're in the metro and sleeping in your own bed.During slower months, you'll cross-train and work alongside our shop team — welding, metal fabrication, sewing, facilities projects. You won't be sitting around waiting for the next install.What We're Looking For- General construction, framing, roofing, siding, sign install, welding, or similar trades background

  • Comfortable working at heights on ladders and lifts
  • Can read a tape measure, follow a drawing, and figure things out on site
  • Mechanical aptitude — you look at how things go together and it makes sense to you
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license (Class D)
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Reliable, shows up, communicates

Prior awning or shade structure experience is a plus but not required. If you've got a trades background and good hands, we'll teach you the rest.What You Get- $25–$30/hrdepending on experience
